The turbocharged engine can be mated to either a sporty CVT (continuous variable transmission) automatic (all trims) or a quick-shifting six-speed manual gearbox (LX and Sport trims).

Mated to the Civic's rigid and lightweight body and sophisticated chassis design, is a fully independent suspension system with liquid-filled bushings, and sport-tuned electronic power steering (EPS) with variable gear ratio.
